As usual Birstall members were
in abundance at the league Presentation, so much so that we had to keep
adding tables until eventually we ended up with them on the dance floor!
The presentations started and once again Birstall Ladies did us proud
by coming 1st overall in the winter and summer league. It wasn't just
the top 3 ladies that helped win this prize it was all the ladies that
ran and over 12 of them were counters throughout the year, well done to
all.
Liz Cocks came 3rd lady overall and Sue Black getting her age group prize
with Lesley winning her age group too.
Bob took the opportunity to present Christian from LOROS with a cheque
for £6,000 to share with Rainbows, this was the final total from
the marathon.
We then were "entertained" by the band which, I'm sorry to say,
were not as good as last year, I wish they would bring back the Cayley
band. After the presentations the clubbers went off to the delights of
Leicester but those remaining made the most of it and had loads of people
dancing. When I left around midnight there were still quite a few of the
Birstall lot keeping the bar staff working.
