CLUB TRIP 2006 - HAPPY VALLEY HILLY

Thanks to Steve Mayoh-Smith for the photos

It is now almost one week since the end of the Trip and I have just about recovered, from the running that is and now is about the right time to recall the 'activities' of last weekend. If you want to read my full report just read last years because it won't differ too much. Just a few headers: Jeff the coach driver. I thought he was excellent he turned up in good time and got us to Bratton an hour before the race; what's more he got us to Weston in record time so there were lots of tinny's left. The Bratton Hilly. What more can be said about this race? With the exception of Deryk everyone ran to his or her previous standard. The Trip virgins and first timers on the Hilly, were not put off too much by the reports of 'The Hill', so well done to Bob, Adam (not sure whether he is a virgin or not), Sue, Maggie, Caroline, Angie and a special well done to Sarah who was our Runner of the Day. All I can say to Colin is "stop mincing you Donkey". The Team prize again won by Neil, Bobby, Steve and Marv. Well done to the President and Steve S for getting to the top of the hill and Johnny Boy, Chris and Paul who also completed the course. That pub was good wasn't it? Deafening or what! Steve won the money! Royal Grosvenor and Captains Cabin Cracking food and db's hotel, cant beat a good greasy breakfast. Saturday Night What can beat a live band and a bit of slap and tickle? Who sang that, was it Squeeze? Sunday Handicap How do we manage to run 4 miles on the morning after the night before? Good job there were no hills! Results 4th me 12secs, 3rd Angie 8secs, 2nd Chezza 3secs who thought he had won it but Rebecca ran like a metronome and was 1st with 1sec. Sunday Night Thai food, live band and a game of seven card brag, all washed down with red wine, champagne (not at £14 a bottle Nick) and one or two pints of lager. Powelly kept his clothes on!!! He is seriously on the rocks. Monday Lunch Good grub again washed down with a game of killer and real champagne. The Company Fantastic, I would take you lot anywhere.
