WARMINSTER RUNNING CLUB BRATTON HILLY 11 KM RACE – 19th MAY 2007

 

Dear Runner,

 

Thank you for entering the Bratton Hilly 11 Km race, Warminster Running Club hopes you will very much enjoy this event. Please read the following instructions carefully as this information will help you on the day.

 

The Race HQ is located at Bratton Jubilee Village Hall opposite The Green and the ‘Duke at Bratton’ public house on the B3098 Melbourne Street and opens at 8.30am on the day of the race.

 

·        If you are approaching the area from the West, make for Westbury and leave the town on the B3098. Bratton is the first village that you come to.

·        If approaching from the North, make for Devizes and follow the A360 South towards Salisbury turning right onto the B3098 towards Little Cheverell and Erlestoke.

·        If approaching from the East or South make your way to Stonehenge which is the junction with the A303/A360. Turn right passing Stonehenge following the A360 North towards Devizes turn left onto B3098 towards Little Cheverell and Erlestoke.

There is NO parking in the area of the Village Hall. It is recommended that use is made of local roads and the car park of the ‘Duke at Bratton’ public house. Please be aware that this car park is to be vacated by 1pm.There are toilet and changing facilities at the Village Hall. Bags and belongings can be left at the Village Hall but the organisers cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to property.

 

Please ensure that, in accordance with UK Athletics regulations, any personal medical information - i.e. conditions or allergies - which you feel appropriate are outlined on the back of your race number. Medical support will be provided by St Johns Ambulance.

 

The start will be on the road to the west of the Village Hall at 11am. The route is over quite demanding terrain in that whilst it is on tarmac roads and tracks, it does involve some steep gradients both up and down. It is unsuitable for wheelchairs. It is marshalled and signed. There will be a lead cyclist and a sweep up vehicle covering the route. Water stations are at the 5kg and 10kg points. For your own safety, please follow any directions given by the police and marshals.

 

After the race some snacks and refreshments will be available at the Village Hall. Prize giving will take place as soon as possible after the last competitor has returned.

 

Results will be available on www.warminsterrc.org.uk or place 50pence in an addressed envelope available at race HQ.
